Announcing the third round of grantees for the Trusted Elections Network Fund

The American Press Institute today announced additional recipients of its Trusted Elections Network Fund micro-grants. New funding to expand this initiative to improve audience-centered elections coverage comes from the Jonathan Logan Family Foundation. Nearly $225,000 has now been awarded to local news organizations and partners for this work.

ABSTRACT: The global pandemic is hitting the local media industry hard and some are struggling to survive. In contrast, the experience for Austonia, a new local news site and LION member that launched on RebelMouse this year, has been incredible growth. Austonia is able to focus on creating great content while RebelMouse keeps their site running fast, maximizes organic reach, and increases pageviews. Through this partnership, Austonia has seen incredible traffic growth in each of the four months since launch.

Creative Circle launches election app

Following its success with “What’s Open” and “Honor My Grad” – both aimed at helping publishers generate traffic and revenue during the coronavirus shutdowns – “Election 2020” allows local candidates to post basic information for free but charges for an enhanced posting. There is a sponsorship opportunity and it’s easy to deploy and run. Perhaps more importantly, the app will also handle election results on election night, displaying results through graphics and photos. It works with any web site.
